Legacy

What do you say about a man who has done so much in such a short time? He was a politician, a family man, a leader, a respected parliamentarian, a father and a friend.
The legacy my father leaves behind cannot be fully expressed in words. The legacy he leaves behind is the mark he has left on the lives of those around him and the people he helped achieve a better life. He was a man who reached the top of that mountain we call politics, yet he never forgot those who remained at the bottom. He did not give them handouts or hollow promises, but a chance to succeed, to move up that mountain, to make a better life for themselves.
Although was not a king, an emperor, a ruler, he has nonetheless come to symbolize what is right and good about this nation. We have all lost a father and a friend today. The void he leaves behind cannot possibly be filled by any man. We shall miss his generosity, his kind spirit, his optimism, his playful personality, and his love. We shall miss you father, and we shall see you again, one day in the future.
