Chairmanship

Picture
Immediately after winning the party leadership from Margaret English, Bauer set out to repair the severely damaged relations between the Socialist Party and the other parties in the Diet, especially with the Fascist Authority Party. Not only did relations improve, but, over the course of the next five years, an alliance between the SPGH and FAP developed. Along with that alliance came a very deep friendship between Bauer and FAP Chairman Erik Chamberlain that lasted them until Bauer's death. Eventually, Bauer would earn the endorsements of both Chamberlain and the Fascist Authority Party in his campaigns for the Governor-Generalship.

Over the course of twenty years, Bauer would introduce bills that expanded healthcare coverage to every citizen, recognized the rights of all citizens to marry, and control the greed and corruption that was pervasive in both the financial sector and government alike. Under his leadership, the Socialist Party rose from a low 106 seats to an all-time hight of 229 seats.
